Concrete Diamond Grinding
Getting a concrete floor really flat and level requires precision work, and we have the equipment and skill to achieve the results you need. New flooring cannot be installed successfully on a surface that isn`t flat and level. It`s like any other surface without proper preparation, you don`t get a high quality, lasting finish.
Why should you bother with concrete coating removal? There are a lot of good reasons to do it, but one of the most important relates to flooring manufacturer’s warranties. I do not know of a single flooring or adhesive manufacturer who will warranty their product if it is installed over a concrete coating of any type. Under the terms of a warranty, any type of foreign matter is considered a bond breaker and that includes epoxies, sealers, curing agents, polishes, waxes, paint, or any other type concrete coating that may be on your sub floor. Without proper concrete coating removal, it is only a matter of time before the installation fails.
Diamond grinding doesn’t level and concrete floor, it takes out the small high spots.
And we grind over old coatings all the time if they are solid and have a good bond.
Coating manufacturers will warranty a new system on top of a old system if it’s prepped correctly.
But in there it’s a great way to remove coatings, not the “only” way.
